A THEORETICAL OUTLINE

While all types of work are really 'consciousness' work, the psyche is differentiated into realms, each operating in qualitatively different ways. While the various realms of the psyche are interconnected and interdependent, specific approaches, methodologies, and techniques are aimed at causing change within specific realms. In clinical settings the various realms of the psyche are often approached separately. A holistic understanding of consciousness and its structures, as well as a truly wholistic approach to wellness, surely includes a fundamental understanding of some of the basic theories and concepts unique to each realm. The following pages are an outline of concepts that I have found important to my overall understanding. It is organized in a way that makes sense to me. I share it in the hope that it makes sense to someone else.
